On March 14, 2018 during the celebration of the International Pi Day, Włodzimierz Lewoniewski provided lecture about automatic evaluation of information quality in a multilingual Wikipedia for pupils of the High School no 1 in Poznań.
During the lecture the history of development, the most important principles and problems of this popular encyclopedia were presented. The pupils learned about how they can evaluate the quality of information posted in this global knowledge base. Also, pupils learned about DBpedia – the semantic version of Wikipedia.
In the second part of the lecture, Włodzimierz Lewoniewski talked about scientific researches related to measures and methods for assessing the quality of information in Wikipedia. Also tools that can automatically determine the quality and choose the best language versions from more than 30 million articles of this encyclopedia was presented.
