The BIS 2026 conference will be held on 10–12 June 2026 at the University of Economics in Prague (Czech Republic). This will be the 26th edition of one of the long-standing and renowned international academic events dedicated to business information systems.
In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has moved to the forefront of the discussion on information systems. Once a technology of curiosity, it has become a key driver of business transformation, management innovation, and economic change. Yet, it is increasingly clear that the path from promise and experimentation to real, measurable results is far from straightforward. Organizations around the world are facing critical questions about scalability, ethics, accountability, data security, and the true economic value of AI-driven solutions.
The main theme of BIS 2026 – “From Hype to Impact: Turning AI into Real Business Value” – aptly reflects the current challenges and shifts in perspective. The conference will provide a space where researchers and practitioners can jointly explore answers to some of the most pressing questions of our time.
Since its inception, the Business Information Systems (BIS) conference has served as a vital forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience between academia and industry. The conference is included in the official list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed international conference proceedings maintained by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland, with a score of 70 points (as of November 2025).
